Sri Sathya Sai Global Council (SSSGC) Begins Relief Efforts for Myanmar Earthquake Victims

Following the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar recently, Sri Sathya Sai Global Council (SSSGC) has stepped forward in a spirit of selfless love and service to support those most affected. True to the divine message of “Love All, Serve All,” Zone 5 has launched its initial Seva (service) efforts, bringing immediate aid to families in crisis.

First Phase of Relief Completed

The first step in the relief operation was carried out successfully on 3rd April 2025, focusing on areas around Inle Lake, one of the worst-hit regions. Dedicated volunteers from SSSGC distributed essential food and hygiene items to 850 families across two locations. The relief kits included:

  • Rice

  • Noodles

  • Biscuits

  • Sanitary pads (for women)

These basic necessities brought not only material support but also emotional comfort to communities grappling with the trauma and disruption caused by the disaster.

Situation Remains Critical

Despite these early efforts, the situation in Myanmar remains challenging, with many areas still suffering from lack of access to food, clean water, and medical care. Damaged infrastructure and political instability have made relief work especially difficult, underscoring the need for continued global support.

SSSGC is working closely with local Sai volunteers and community contacts to assess further needs and plan the next phase of support. This may include medical aid, shelter rebuilding, and psychological support for families and children affected by the quake.

A Call to Serve

The Sri Sathya Sai Global Council invites all devotees and well-wishers to join hands in this humanitarian mission. Through coordinated service, we can bring relief and hope to our brothers and sisters in Myanmar.

As Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has said,“Service to man is service to God.”

Let this be our guiding light as we move forward in unity and compassion.
