Sri Gayathri Maha Yagna (GMY) by Sri Sathya Sai Vedic Society Singapore of SSSGC Singapore

The Sri Sathya Sai Vedic Society, Singapore (SSSVSS) of SSSGC Singapore organised its annual Sri Gayathri Maha Yagna (GMY) between Jan 29th 2024 and May 1st 2024, culminating on Bhagavan’s Punya Thithi or Samadh day as per Vedic Almanac. The venue was Field 1, Geylang East Avenue 2, which is next to the Sri Sivan Temple, Singapore.

Jan 29th started with the Sankalpa program at the PGP function hall, attended by 150 devotees, embarking on Gayathri Chanting Sadhana leading to the GMY in May. For those who missed the Jan 29th Sankalpa session, subsequent sessions were conducted for devotees, both at physical locations and digitally for overseas participants. The aim of the Sankalpa was to complete a collective count of 6.5 million Gayathri mantra chants before May 1st 2024.

The Gayathri jap count was updated via web page and social media platforms.

Between Jan and Apr, we facilitated daily prayer sessions over the digital space between 6.30 a.m. and 7 a.m. The prayer program included Omkaram, Suprabhatham, Veda recitation, Swami’s Ashtothram and Mangala arathi.

GMY 2024 was officiated on April 28th with the performance of Vasthu Homam by the priest from Sri Sivan Temple. Devotees from all quarters volunteered to give a lending hand to serve their beloved Master for the smooth running of the program between 28th April and 1st May. They organized themselves, creating a spiritual ambience for the 800 devotees who attended the function.

SSSVSS wish to thank all participants, volunteers, and all who made this event memorable. Special mention to all Government agencies, Sri Sivan Temple, Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Hindu Endowment Board, and to Sri Sathya Sai Fraternity for making this event possible.
