Indonesia, SSSGC Yogyakarta's Sociocare Seva Served Over 1,200 People in Yogyakarta
On January 4 and 5, 2025, SSSGC Yogyakarta conducted Sociocare Seva activities in the remote regions of Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta. This event was organized to celebrate the 99th birthday of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai and to usher in the new year of 2025. The activities were led by the Chairperson of SSSGC Yogyakarta, Mrs. Zuki, and attended by the Vice Chairperson of SSSGC Indonesia, Bro Johnny Wong, along with teams from SSSGC Yogyakarta and Jakarta.
On the first day, the seva took place at Pesantren Ainul Yakin, where services were provided to 250 children with autism and individuals with mental health conditions. Located in a remote area approximately two hours from downtown Yogyakarta, the team departed early in the morning to deliver compassionate services and distribute pre-prepared aid packages. The activities continued until the evening, after which the team returned to the center.
On the second day, the seva proceeded in Dusun Piyuyon, Pacarejo Village, Gunungkidul Regency. Aid packages were distributed to 1,008 residents, including rice (5 kg per family), bread, biscuits, milk, instant noodles, and t-shirts. The journey to this location also required about two hours, traversing challenging terrain. With a dedicated spirit of service, the team arrived in the morning to ensure all aid was distributed to the residents. The activities concluded in the evening, and the team returned to the center.
The two-day Sociocare Seva event concluded with a bhajan session attended by the participating devotees, creating a serene spiritual atmosphere and offering a moment of reflection on the service provided over the past two days.
This initiative embodies the core teaching of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba: "Love All, Serve All." Under the experienced leadership of Mrs. Zuki, who has been conducting Sociocare Seva in various villages for over 25 years, and with the full support of SSSGC Indonesia Vice Chairperson Bro Johnny Wong and other SSSGC team members, this activity had a significant impact on communities in need.
